Ven 501 20hp
Best for short and medium days near Hvar and Pakleni when you want something simple, beginner-friendly, and steady, but still more capable than the smallest bareboats.

Hvar Town · Croatia
Stronger bareboats for longer days out from Hvar — from the 20hp Ven 501 for beginners to a 40hp open boat and a 7m BSC RIB.
What motorboat rental is for
Small tiller boats are fine for short, local outings. Motorboats are for guests who want more range, more comfort, and more options in a single day.
If you want to move beyond a quick hop near town, carry more people comfortably, or have a realistic chance of reaching further spots without pushing the boat, this is where you should be looking.
This page covers David's 20hp Ven 501, the 40hp open boat, and the 7m BSC RIB that also runs his private tours and transfers, so you can see which one fits your group, your licence, and your route.
Which boat fits your day
Best for short and medium days near Hvar and Pakleni when you want something simple, beginner-friendly, and steady, but still more capable than the smallest bareboats.
Best for a fuller bareboat day with more pace and range for up to 6 people, as long as someone in the group has a valid boating licence.
Best when you want the same 7m boat David uses for private tours and transfers, with space, speed, and comfort for a bigger group. Pure rental or skippered day.
If you are unsure where your plan sits between these three, message David before you book. It is faster than guessing from photos.

5m open boat · max 5 guests · licence required
Ven 501 is David's 5m 20hp open boat, set up for small groups who want a simple, forgiving bareboat for a day around Hvar and the Pakleni Islands. Max capacity is 5 guests, which keeps things comfortable at this size.
It is the natural next step up from the smallest bareboats: easy to handle, easier to live with for a full day, and still friendly for beginners who have not driven a boat before.

A valid boating licence from any country is required for the skipper. For more info, contact David.

Typical day-rate range: around €180–€200 depending on date and demand. Exact price is confirmed directly with David.

5m open boat · 40hp · licence required
The 40hp open boat is for guests who want a stronger bareboat with more pace and a bit more freedom in how far they go. At 5m with max 6 guests, it is the step up that makes sense if your group is slightly bigger or you want a fuller day with more movement.
It still suits days around Hvar and Pakleni first, but with the right conditions and realistic route planning, it can comfortably cover more ground than the 20hp.

7m centre-console RIB · 200hp · skipper by default, bareboat on request
The BSC is David's 7m centre-console RIB with a 200hp engine and capacity for up to 10 guests. It is the boat he uses most often for private tours and boat transfers, because it has the space, speed, and comfort to carry a full group without feeling tight.
Most guests book the BSC with one of David's skippers and treat it as a private tour or transfer platform. If you have the right licence and experience, you can also ask for a bareboat setup instead.

Where these boats make sense
These boats open up more route options than the smallest bareboats, but they are still not the same as a big tour boat. The point is to match the boat to a realistic plan.
Short hop from Hvar Town, with plenty of room for a full day of swimming and bay-hopping. All three motorboats can work here; the BSC is best for larger groups and skipper-hosted days.
Quieter coves and a slightly longer run. 20hp and 40hp can work when conditions are right and the plan is realistic; the BSC with a skipper gives you more comfort and margin.
This is a longer route. In most cases, it is better booked as a private tour on the BSC with a skipper than as a casual bareboat idea. If you want to do this as a rental, talk to David first about your licence, experience, and route.
If you are not sure whether your route is realistic for a motorboat rental, ask David before you lock in a plan.
Bareboat or with a skipper?
Motorboat rental is not one-size-fits-all. If you have a valid licence, feel comfortable on the water, and your route is realistic, bareboat on the 20hp or 40hp can be the right choice.
If you want a longer route, more people on board, or simply do not want to manage the boat and the conditions, booking the BSC with a skipper is often the better move.
